One of the best ever written, one of my favourites.

'I know someday you'll have a beautiful life,
I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky,
But why, why, why can't it be, can't it be mine?'

LYRICS!

The dark nights are drawing in and your humour is as black as them

I look at yours - you laugh at mine

And love is just a miserable lie

This come on the radio on absolute a while back in the offIce
The girls moaned saying they'd never heard of Pearl Jam. And thought it was shit. And wanted smash hits back on.

We carried on the discussion, apparently one direction are better know around the world, produce better songs etc.

The boy in the office google'd it while we were talking and it turns out pearl jam sold over double album sales than 1D for the album ten.

It was a nice moment for me, and victory for proper music in general.

Release me still beats it. I remember hearing it around 98/99 for the first time and being blown away. One of the deepest songs of all time for me.

One of the all time 'classic' rock songs!
Love the way it builds and completely smothers you !
Most Brits into pop think being 'Big' in the UK means big around the world , when in reality they generally mean feck all.

Agree with Ron about Release too. Would recommend checking out Come Back - that's a lump at the back of the throat song if ever there was one

I saw them at the O2 in 2009 and they opened with Release...sent chills down my spine... great song. Black is probably my favorite track of theirs though. Great played live.

There's a hidden track of theirs, think it's called "I'm still here"...is basically Eddie speaking with guitar playing in background...very deep and haunting.
